FAQs

Yoga therapy is a personalized, holistic approach to health and well-being that addresses an individual's physical, mental, emotional, social, and spiritual needs. Unlike general yoga classes, yoga therapy is tailored to each person’s unique circumstances, health challenges, and goals—empowering individuals to play an active role in their healing journey.

Yoga therapists use evidence-based yoga tools, including movement, breathwork, meditation techniques, and mindfulness practices, to support a wide range of health goals—from managing chronic conditions and reducing stress to promoting emotional balance and personal growth. While yoga therapists do not diagnose or treat medical conditions, they serve as trusted partners in your overall health and wellness journey, working alongside other healthcare providers as part of a multidisciplinary care team.

With in-depth training to assess individual needs, yoga therapists create collaborative, customized plans that prioritize your safety, unique goals, and any limitations you may be experiencing. Whether you're seeking relief from health challenges, emotional balance, or deeper self-discovery, yoga therapy provides a compassionate, integrative pathway to optimize your overall well-being and support healing on every level.

Yoga therapy is often one-on-one. The instructor of a contemporary yoga class formats content and delivers it to a large group of people of varying experiences with yoga; however, a yoga therapist personalizes and tailors sessions to address specific health conditions, client goals, and to improve overall well-being, Whereas the focus of a yoga class may be on the techniques, the focus of a yoga therapy session is on the individual and his/her health condition and goals.
